How do budgets work?
You set one monthly cap for the whole organization, and optional tighter caps for individual people on top. When a cap is reached, requests stop rather than quietly running over. Members can ask for more from inside the dashboard, and an admin approves it as a one-month bonus or a permanent increase, or denies it. Every change is logged.
How detailed is our view of spend?
Hard budgets are set for the organization as a whole and per person, so total spend can never run away and any one person's can be capped. On top of that, spending is tracked and reported by model, by person, and by day, so you can always see exactly where the money is going.
Which models are available, and who controls the list?
The catalog spans frontier, closed-source models alongside leading open-weight and domain-specific models, and it grows all the time. Your admin controls which models your people are allowed to call, so the set available inside your organization matches your governance and risk posture.
How does billing reconcile?
Every request is priced per token at rates you can see in the dashboard, and usage rolls up by model, person, and day with CSV export. The number in the dashboard is the number you pay, so finance can reconcile and run chargeback or showback without reverse-engineering a provider bill.

How quickly can we be up and running?
Right away. Sign up, create your organization, invite your team, pick your models, and set your budgets, all self-service, all in one sitting. There is nothing to deploy and no waiting on us: you are live as soon as you finish signing up.
Who runs and maintains it?
We do. Hosting, upgrades, model catalog updates, and day-to-day operations are all on our side. You manage your people, budgets, and model access from the dashboard; we keep the platform running. We never read your prompts or model responses, and we do not use anything that passes through Strata to train models.
What gets logged, and who can see it?
For every request we record who called, which model, how many tokens, how long it took, and what it cost, so your budgets and usage views work. We never store the contents of your prompts or the model's responses. Only your own admins can see your organization's usage; no other customer can, and we do not read it.
How is our usage kept separate from other customers?
Each organization is fully isolated in its own tenant, with its own members, keys, budgets, and usage records. No other customer can ever see your data, your usage, or that your organization exists. Within your own organization, your admins control who can see what through role-based access, and API keys are hashed at rest and scoped per app or service.
Can we move to self-hosted later?
Yes. It is the same platform either way, so you can start on the managed service to move fast and migrate into your own AWS account later if your requirements change.
Where does our data live?
Inside your own AWS environment, in the region you choose. The gateway, the usage records, the audit trail, and any operational logs all sit in infrastructure you own. Nobody outside your organization, including the Strata team, can see what passes through the gateway. If you have specific data residency or sovereignty requirements, we will work through them with you.
What gets logged, and who can see it?
For every request we record who called, which model, how many tokens, how long it took, and which cost center it belongs to. We do not store the contents of prompts or model responses. Access is controlled by your own policies, and nobody outside the principals you grant access to, including the Strata team, can read them.
Who handles deployment and upgrades?
We do, working with your platform team. Strata is delivered as a managed engagement: we run the initial deploy into your AWS account, configure the model catalog, budgets, and integrations with your stakeholders, and stay on through upgrades and operational issues. Your data and keys never leave your account.
What about compliance and certifications?
Because Strata runs entirely inside your AWS account, the controls most audits look for (network isolation, identity, encryption at rest and in transit, logging, retention) inherit from AWS itself, which holds the major industry certifications at the platform layer. Bring your specific requirements to the call and we will work through them.
